A week-long celebration, full of activities and passion, as all teams give their best in this tournament.

We have prepared a unique experience, with a historic participation of 450 teams in both male and female categories.
A Majestic Opening Ceremony at Estadio Corona
As every year, in what has become a unique and unforgettable moment for all attendees, a majestic opening ceremony will take place at Estadio Corona, featuring all participating teams and a world-class light show.
An Inclusive Tournament
As part of the Santos Peñoles Cup experience, a category for athletes with intellectual disabilities will be included, reinforcing the commitment to inclusion, which is part of our Ganar Sirviendo organizational culture.
Orlegi Sports Scouting
This tournament features scouting opportunities through Orlegi Sports' scouting department. Several of our players and academy prospects have had the opportunity to compete in this event.
Torreón, Coahuila – April 11, 2024. This Thursday, the 12th edition of the Santos Peñoles Cup was officially presented. The tournament has been established as Mexico’s Best Cup over 11 editions, and this 12th edition promises to be the biggest yet, with the participation of several countries and teams from all regions of Mexico.

Statements from Club Santos Laguna’s President
Dante Elizalde shared a first message about the significance of the Santos Peñoles Cup:
"We are very happy and proud to present this 12th edition of the Santos Peñoles International Cup, Mexico’s Best Cup, an event that has become a benchmark in La Comarca Lagunera, in Mexico, and has even transcended borders."
He added:
"This cup started several years ago with 40 teams, and today we have around 450 teams seeking glory, including the Santos Peñoles Academies network, which will experience an unforgettable tournament at Territorio Santos Modelo, a world-class facility that provides moments similar to what our professional teams live daily. We recognize the work Peñoles does through this Cup and other initiatives benefiting La Comarca Lagunera, and we are confident that this edition will be another total success."
Statements from Industrias Peñoles' Liaison Manager
Antonio Baca, Liaison Manager at Industrias Peñoles, stated:
"This is not just a tournament; behind it, there is a strong partnership with Santos, starting from our Academies. We have 11 Santos Peñoles Academies across seven states in Mexico, with nearly 1,300 participants. These young players are not only focused on sports but also on values, building the foundation for their future development."
He added:
"Santos and Peñoles share the same vision—impacting communities. Coming to La Laguna and experiencing this Cup is a true celebration. Sports serve as a tool for family bonding and value transmission."
Statements from Orlegi Sports' Director of Retail and Football Academies
Ignacio Martínez provided general details about the competition:
Over 7,000 participants and 20,000 attendees are expected throughout the event.
The intellectual disability category will feature 14 teams from different cities, including Monterrey, Querétaro, and Ciudad Juárez.
Territorio Santos Modelo will serve as the main venue, with additional locations supported by various clubs, schools, and universities.
A Pathway to Professional Football
One of the players discovered in this tournament is Jordan Carrillo, now a first-team starter for Santos Laguna. He joined Santos' youth academy after winning the Santos Peñoles Cup.
His successful journey includes:
Winning multiple individual and team titles
Being named Liga MX Rookie of the Year
Receiving call-ups to the Mexican National Team
Playing for the First Team of Real Sporting de Gijón
